[Important Notice] Suspicious Emails and Messages Impersonating Hotels or Online Travel Agencies

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued patronage of Hotel Metropolitan Akita.

We have recently confirmed that some guests who made reservations through the online travel agency “Booking.com” at certain properties of JR-EAST HOTELS have received messages via WhatsApp impersonating our hotels, containing URL links that may lead to malicious phishing websites.

Neither our hotel nor the online travel agency “Booking.com” will ever contact you via WhatsApp or other messaging applications to directly request your personal details or credit card information.

If you receive such a suspicious message, we strongly urge you not to click on any URLs contained therein, and not to enter any personal or credit card information.

We are currently investigating the matter with the relevant online travel agency. In addition, our hotel has implemented necessary security measures, including changing the login password for our reservation management system.

We sincerely apologize for the concern and inconvenience this has caused our guests.
